Certain jobs call for a particular code of dressing. In other jobs, uniforms are imperative, since they not only act as protective gear but they also help customers to identify employees. Besides, a good presentation can mean well for business. However, most employees do not like uniforms. By having an employee uniform agreement, you can ensure that your workers are at their best at all times.

The employee uniform agreement can include but not limited to:

  1. Who pays for the uniform and the cleaning costs - In most cases, the company provides the uniforms while the employee cleans it.
  2. A laundry allowance - Some companies offer a laundry allowance to the employees for cleaning the apparel. It can be indicated in their pay slip, or they receive a particular stipend at the end of every week, to cover the cleaning costs
  3. In another case, the employer provides and cleans the uniform- The Company might have an indoor laundry room, where the uniforms and other fabric used in the enterprise are cleaned.
  4. How, when and where to wear the uniform- Some employers may demand that the employee wears the uniform only when they are working. An organization’s brand is crucial. If an employer is caught behaving indecently in a public place while wearing their uniform, it can paint the wrong picture in the minds of the people. Hence, it is important to dictate where the employees can wear their work apparel.
  5. When, and under which circumstances should an employee wear the uniform.
  6. The agreement can also include other equipment given to the employee for effective performance of their job.
  7. Agreement by the employee to return the uniform items after the termination or completion of their employment contract.
